Advertised adapted properties
Sometimes we advertise an adapted property for applicants to bid for. We usually do this if we have not been able to match it to anyone on our adapted housing list. The advert will tell you who can bid on the property. In most cases, you still have to have a need for the adaptations to be offered to the property. Sometimes we may offer a property to someone who does not need the adaptations.
Certain adaptations will not be removed from a property after you have moved in. It might happen even if you do not need them. This is unless it is unsafe for them to remain on the property. An example is a wet room where we will not remove and replace with a bath. It is important you take this into account if choosing to bid for an adapted property and you do not need the adaptations.
If you need adaptations putting into a property to meet your needs, we may not offer you that property. This is unless it is the most -
- financially viable
- reasonable
- practicable
option for the Housing Service. It should also make the best use of our stock.
